As Chief Scientist for StellarPeak Corp., Dr. Brian Montgomery provides comprehensive and detailed Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Imagery Scientist support to NGA and innovative solutions and initiatives to addressing difficult problems. Dr. Montgomery brings a wealth of scientific, analytic, cross-domain, and multi-agency experience to advancing customer objectives and enhancing corporate growth opportunities.
Prior to joining StellarPeak, Dr. Montgomery served as Technical Lead at the Johns Hopkins University (JHU) Applied Physics Lab. In this role, he supported numerous Intelligence Community, other federal agency, and DOD projects. His supported projects involved Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), counter-WMD, GEOINT, GIS, SAR, modeling, nuclear proliferation, sensor, and counter-tunneling aspects.
As Fusion Cell Team Chief, Dr. Montgomery supervised and created the exploitation algorithms and collection strategy for an Airborne Multi-Sensor Fusion project for the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA). Previously, as Lead Interdisciplinary Scientist at NASA, he supported the Laboratory of Terrestrial Physics leading multi-disciplinary investigations using remotely sensed data.
Dr. Montgomery earned his Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems, Master of Arts in Intelligence Studies, and PhD in Public Policy and Terrorism.
