Systems Engineer (VV&T)

Position Description:

The customer’s Systems Engineering Directorate (SED) is transforming its contract structure to more closely align to the skills and structure of systems engineering in a capability based, service-enabled, architecture environment.  The primary objective is to provide integration and closure; process; mission assurance; service management; and verification, validation and transition systems engineering and technical support services to the Systems Engineering Directorate that will enable it to execute its responsibilities efficiently and effectively, achieve the SED vision, and ensure mission success.

The INCEPTUM Verification, Validation and Transition (VV&T) team is responsible for provide technical support for the planning and execution of enterprise and system-level verification, validation and transition activities for national assets, associated ground segments and services, and information processing systems within the enterprise. The team supports the recommended closure of enterprise and system requirements; independent verification, validation and test in support of delivered system capabilities and mission closure, overseeing SED readiness events in support of enterprise, system and acquisition-level test milestones; leading and supporting project planning; assessing schedule and risk; generating  and presenting engineering briefings; and interfacing with numerous customers. This position requires a strong focus on core systems engineering processes in support of the end-to-end mission.

Position Requirements:

  • 5-10 years’ experience with space/ground systems and systems engineering
  • BS in engineering, physics or related technical degree
  • Verification, Validation and Transition (VV&T) experience within overall customer domain
  • Experience writing test strategies and plans, executing tests, analyzing data and summarizing results
  • Experience in system integration and transition approaches to accommodate the End to End GEOINT and/or SIGINT life-cycle
  • Ability to relate professionally inside the work environment
  • Proven communication skills
  • Highly organized
  • Proven adaptability
  • Commitment to recognize, understand, respect and operate effectively within various SETA, FFRDC, and Government lines of authority
